Mother’s Day: Life is Like a Box of Chocolates

When I lived in New York, my first apartment was directly upstairs from the ever-luxurious La Maison du Chocolat. Let me tell you, it was very difficult to walk past it every day without want to pop in for a macaron or a truffle. One of the things I remember most clearly about this chocolatier is the amazing selection of beautiful gift items on display in the window every day. Why not treat Mom to an adorable “hatbox” (La Maison’s signature packaging) of delicious treats?

{Petite Hatbox, $50}

This particular gift set comes with 1 almond assortment gift box, 1 four-praline assortment, and 1 two-truffle gift box. The hatboxes are delivered closed, with a charming La Maison du Chocolat ribbon tying it closed. Of course, you can always upgrade to something a little more grandiose to show Mom just how much you care—there’s the Sweet Intention Hatbox all the way to the $360 Decadent Hatbox (I think I would die of sheer joy—and perhaps a sugar overdose—if anyone ever got that for me).
